Mildred Dresselhaus Guest Professorship 2017: Call for Nominations and Self-applications is now open

CUI is calling for nominations or self-applications to the „Mildred Dresselhaus Guest Professorship 2017“. Mildred Dresselhaus (1939 – 2017), Professor of Physics and Engineering at the MIT, was a pioneer in the electronic properties of materials, and a true role model and leader in promoting opportunities for women in science and engineering.

As in the previous years, CUI aims at awarding the prize two times: to a successful senior scientist and to a younger scientist with high potential. The awardees will be invited to Hamburg for six months, in order to perform research within a CUI group, to use the excellent research facilities, to give lectures and to establish contacts. The prize includes a generous financial support that covers travel and living allowances.

The “Hamburg Centre for Ultrafast Imaging” seeks to attract world leading researchers to Hamburg; it intends to generate collaborations and networks as well as to establish role models for young women in physical sciences. The award has been established in 2013 to promote outstanding female scientists.

For the conclusive recommendation of a female colleague or for a self-application, please hand in a letter of motivation, a scientific CV including the five most important publications, a list of invited talks, teaching experience as well as research interests as one single pdf file to cui.opportunity@cui.uni-hamburg.de until 30 April 2017.
