CUI’s third International Symposium took place from 11 November to 12 November in the Center For Free-Electron Laser Science (CFEL) on Campus Bahrenfeld.
As a highlight of the symposium, the Hamburg Prize for Theoretical Physics worth 40,000 euro was given to Prof. Dr. Ignacio Cirac, Director of the Department Theory at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching. The prize was awarded by Joachim Herz Stiftung in co-operation with CUI.

Petra Herz, chairwoman of the Executive Board of the Joachim Herz Stiftung, presented a symbolic check to the amount of Euro 40,000 Euro to Prof. Ignacio Cirac.
