CUI Winter school 2014
The second winter school organized by the PhD students of CUI will take place in the period December 1-5, 2014, at the Tagungscenter Weissenhäuser Strand (Baltic Sea, Germany). Invited speakers include experts from CUI as well as other institutions. The scientific programme concerns the following topics: light-matter interaction, non-linear optics, molecular machines in biology, time-resolved visualization of enzymatic reactions, magnetism on the atomic scale, static and dynamic properties of ferromagnetic nanostructures. Besides this, two courses on gender studies and on ethical implications and social consequences of new technical developments will be held.

CUI Graduate Days 2015
The second Graduate Days of CUI will take place from March 9 to March 11, 2015. The courses are organised as parallel block lectures, with the morning lectures taking place from 9:30 to 12:30 and the afternoon lectures from 14:00 to 17:30, including coffee breaks. The courses run for three days either in the morning or in the afternoon.
In addition to the courses, there will be on Monday March 9, 2015, a special talk by Dr. Thomas Pattard (APS Managing Editor), a colloquium on Tuesday March 10, 2015, by Prof. Atac Imamoglu (ETH Zurich, Switzerland), and an industry presentation by Dr. Wolfgnag Becken of Rodenstock GmbH (Munich, Germany), which will take place on Wednesday March 11, 2015.
