The third winter school organized by the PhD students of CUI will take place from February 15 to February 19, 2016, at the Hotel Rößle in Todtmoos (Black forest, Germany). The lectures will cover a variety of topics related to the research areas of CUI: light-matter interaction, femtochemistry, structure and function of proteins, X-ray scattering analysis and modelling of biological structures, inorganic solid-state chemistry, and nucleation and growth of nanoparticles. Besides this, a course on “ethical implications and social consequences of new technical developments” is planned.
The event will be also an opportunity for the PhD students and the postdoctoral researchers of CUI to learn more about the different scientific projects carried out within the cluster. As in the previous editions, each student will the possibility to present her or his own scientific project in either a talk or a poster presentation.
