Andrea Cavalleri elected AAAS Fellow

“For pioneering contributions to the development and use of ultrafast and ultra-intense laser fields to create and probe photo induced phase transitions in correlated electron materials,” CUI member Andrea Cavalleri has been elected as Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

The AAAS is the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of the journal Science. AAAS was founded in 1848 and includes nearly 250 affiliated societies and academies of science, serving 10 million individuals. The non-profit society is open to all and fulfills its mission to “advance science and serve society” through initiatives in science policy, international programs, science education, public engagement, and more.

Andrea Cavalleri is a director at the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter at CFEL.
