Hamburg Prize for Theoretical Physics 2017: Call for Nominations

Self-applications and nominations are now possible for The Hamburg Prize for Theoretical Physics 2017, which CUI and the Joachim Herz Stiftung will jointly award in the research areas of atoms, molecules, and quantum optics as well as condensed matter.

The award honors outstanding contributions of a highly accomplished international researcher with personal prize money of EUR 40,000. The prize will be presented during CUI’s International Symposium in November in Hamburg.

Prof. Shaul Mukamel, University of California (2012)
Prof. Chris H. Greene, Purdue University (2013)
Prof. Antoine Georges, Collège de France, École Polytechnique, Universität Genf (2014)
Prof. Dr. Ignacio Cirac, Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik (2015)
Prof. Dr. Mikhail Katsnelson, Radboud Universiteit (2016)

The prize winner is expected to interact with the research groups and especially with young researchers of the cluster (e.g. via lectures and seminars) during one or more visits to Hamburg. Additional funds will be available for these visits.
