Projects honored by DFG as models

Ten equal opportunity projects of Universität Hamburg have been selected for the DFG toolbox, among them the Mildred Dresselhaus Guest Professorship Program and further projects supported by CUI. The DFG toolbox is a freely accessible online information system that documents successful and innovative equal opportunity measures. The toolbox gives users an overview of current developments and trends in the field of gender equality in research and teaching.

“The selection of these measures for the DFG toolbox strengthens the long-lasting work for gender equality at the university and makes it visible,” says Dr. Angelika Paschke-Kratzin, Equal Opportunity Commissioner of Universität Hamburg. DFG selected the family friendly infrastructure, the information event „Scientific Career and Parenthood“ and the active break „Aktive Mittagspause“, the comeback fellowship for climate scientists (CliSAP), and the Mildred Dresselhaus Guest Professorship Program (CUI) due to the model character of each project.

In addition “Academic Leadership Programme for Women”, “Gender Equality Award (CliSAP)”, “Women’s Career Day  (CUI)”, and the gender award  “Gleichstellungspreis” have been selected as models.

The Hamburg-wide program “Pro Exzellenzia meets UHH” will be included in the federal and state listing. Further measures such as the “Frauenförder- und Gleichstellungsfonds” will be included in the tool box after the evaluation process has been completed.
