The Optical Society of America has selected Professor Günter Huber (ILP, CUI) to receive the Charles Hard Townes Award 2013.
Citation OSA: “It is my pleasure to inform you that Günter Huber of the Institute of Laser Physics has been selected to receive the 2013 Charles Hard Townes Award of the Optical Society.
This honor is presented to recognize outstanding contributions to quantum electronics. Prof. Dr. Huber is being honored for seminal contributions to solid state lasers, in particular the growth, development, and fundamental characterization of new laser materials based on laser active transition metal and rare earth ions.
