The Graduate Days is a yearly event, which is devoted to the education and training of Master and Ph.D. students as well as postdocs, and are organized through the graduate school of the cluster of excellence. The event takes place before the summer term starts and consists mainly of intense compact courses in a flexible format dedicated to certain focus subjects of relevance or related to the research carried out at the cluster of excellence Advanced Imaging of Matter. The goal of the event is to offer courses that broaden the physics, chemistry, and biology knowledge of our students as well as to teach them specialized techniques.
The Graduate Days represent a platform where the students can interact closely with the lecturers, thereby profiting from an exchange of ideas, know-how, and methodology. During the event there is also a presentation of industry. Additionally, focus courses on professional and personal skills are integrated into the Graduate Days of the cluster of excellence.
A highlight of the graduate days is the colloquium talk where the participants gather and listen to the presentation of a high profile speaker, who is asked to provide an overview of an established area of research.
During the Graduate Days common lunches and receptions in the evening after the colloquium and the industry event are organised, providing many opportunities for social contact, particularly with the invited speakers.
