From November 13 to November 15, 2013, world leading scientists met in Hamburg for CUI’s international symposium to present and discuss the latest results and developments in the fascinating fields of photon and nano science, including excellent talks on topics from experimental and theoretical ultra-fast physics, solid state physics, X-ray and laser science, quantum optics as well as nano science.
As a highlight during the symposium the Hamburg Centre of Ultrafast Imaging and the Joachim Herz Stiftung awarded the Hamburg Prize for Theoretical Physics 2013 to Chris H. Greene, Purdue University, for his outstanding and pioneering theoretical contributions to atomic and molecular physics, in particular the discovery of ultralong-range-molecules with novel binding mechanisms.
