The great aim of equal opportunity’s efforts and measures is to balance the numbers in participation between the genders in research in the long run. This goal seems to be abstract and remote from daily work in research. But it´s not. With our podcast „Equalizer“ we aim to explain the big field of equal opportunity and make it more coherent, concrete, and accessible. From different perspectives, inviting different voices and personalities.
Equalizer Episode #1
„The Right to be Curious“ with Prof. Dr. Tomas Brage
In his talk „Objectivity is all that matters?! The Dynamics of Science and Gender in Physics“ physicist Tomas Brage glances humorously but still critical at the apparent objective rules and laws of physics as science (culture).
He starts by explaining the current challenges in the international equal opportunity work, how he got involved, and why there is more than statistics, rates and promotional programs within equal opportunity.
