Mildred Dresselhaus Award: Call for Applications

CUI is now calling for nominations or self-applications to the „Mildred Dresselhaus Award 2016“. The award has been established in 2013 to promote outstanding female scientists.

As in the previous years, CUI aims at awarding the prize two times: to a successful senior scientist and to a younger scientist with high potential. The awardees will be invited to Hamburg for six months, in order to perform research within a CUI group, to use the excellent research facilities, to give lectures and to establish contacts. Therefore the prize includes a generous financial support that covers more than travel and living allowances.

Mildred Dresselhaus, Professor of Physics and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is a clear role model.

The Hamburg Centre for Ultrafast Imaging seeks to attract world leading researchers to Hamburg; it intends to generate collaborations and networks as well as to establish role models for young women in physical sciences.

For the conclusive recommendation of a female colleague or for a self-application, please hand in a letter of motivation, a scientific CV including the five most important publications, a list of invited talks, teaching experience as well as research interests as one single pdf file to marie.lutz@cui.uni-hamburg.de until 22.2.2016.
